Renew your book


Access to your account to renew and reserve and the automated phone line service may be affected on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th March when we will be doing essential maintenance. Access will also be unavailable on 5th April for our year-end procedures. We apologise for any inconvenience.


You can renew your library items online, in person or by phone.

It is possible to renew items up to ten times using online and automated phone service, providing you do not have outstanding charges of more than £6 on your account or charges which are more than a month old. Some items may not be renewed, and some audio visual items may be subject to loan charges on renewal. Any item that has been requested by another customer may not be renewed. Please note that overdue items may be subject to charges.

Inter-library loan renewals cannot be guaranteed and they cannot be renewed online. Please contact us by email to request a renewal:


Login to your account with your library card number (14 digits) and your PIN (4 digits). You can also use this option by logging onto a People's Network computer in any library.

By phone

Visit one of our libraries and use the self service kiosk, or ask a member of staff.

Library Elf

Library Elf is a third party service to which Lancashire library subscribes. You can sign up for free to let Elf help you manage your loans and reservations. It will provide you with email alerts that your loan period is nearly over, but before the book is due back. It will also alert you to overdue books and reservations that have arrived. You can manage all your family's library cards from one account and help eliminate overdue fines.
